Japanese Pattern Pond

Japanese Pattern Pond

Against a cerulean backdrop and beneath a lattice of pond plants and the shadows of reflections, apricot orange coy carp swim amongst golden leaves and moss and pear-green foliage. This painting is inspired by the beauty and tranquillity of a Japanese garden, where the stunning, natural chaos of colour and pattern within the pond was at odds with its ordered surroundings.
