Queen's Park Illustration Summer
The dappled reflections of a sun-lit river lead away into sunlit, golden foliage, whilst in the foreground, gunnera manicata (Brazilian giant rhubarb) leaves unfold magnificently against a bed of yellow and red blooms.
This series of watercolour paintings were inspired by photos taken in my local park in Loughborough during lockdown. Painting was a therapeutic process for me during the pandemic; it was a way to escape the mundane. These paintings bring colour, pattern and fun to the ordinary and choose to see life through a lens of beauty.
